Departure

.
I'm sitting in the Tampa airport; we board in about an hour. I'm enjoying a #7 smoothie (variety of berries) and just finished a lemon poppyseed muffin. We have a layover at JFK, then fly home, arriving home around 5:00 or 6:00 I think. Simon will be working. I've talked to him every day and he seems to have kept himself out of trouble. The pets seem to have survived his care, even the fish, which seemed to be on his last legs lately, so to speak.

Yesterday we went to a craft show at the Florida Fairgrounds. I was curious to see if there was anything I hadn't seen before. There were a couple of things - one was the teeniest miniature flowers made of two kinds of clay combined. I wasn't familiar with the kinds of clay but they are both air dry clays. The other was those reed diffusers - never saw those in a craft show yet. I was also curious how much of the stuff would be Florida themed. Not much - it was pretty much the same stuff I'd see at home, which is kind of what I expected. It also seemed a good deal of the stuff was purchased product being resold, not all hand-crafted, which was disappointing. I wish the show had been bigger too, but that's probably always the way.

By the time we found someplace for breakfast, toured the craft show and got back to the room, it was 3:00 or so. I wanted to spend some time in the room working on the paper art stuff I brought with me. So I did that, read, napped - all good. I ordered a pizza online from Papa Jack's, then we went to pick it up. After that we went downstairs to the restaurant and got the ice cream sundae bar to go - and ate our sundaes while watching The West Wing. Then we went in the pool for a while. I wasn't keen on it but am so glad I did because it finally put out the fire on my legs. Then we went in the hot tub, which we affectionately called the warm tub. That fired up my legs again but just for a minute. Then back in the pool and back to our room to watch a little TV until we turned in around 11:00.

It was a good final day - did some stuff - did some relaxing. As I said to Steve last night, I like my life just fine and don't mind going home - but I really liked my fake life for the last five days. Still, it will be good to get home - it always is, isn't it?

So glad to hear you guys had a great time, Stef.

Five days away is about my limit. I love going but love coming home. I'm like you. I love my life. Being away does give you a fresh look at yourself...at your life. I usually make little adjustments to things...like rearranging the furniture or ditching a project I thought I was enjoying. Things I wouldn't have seen so clearly before.

Getting away is a Good Thing.
