When I was looking online for a cake recipe last week, for a little something different to take to Steve's cousin's house on Christmas Eve, this is what I threatened Jen that I would make. Thank goodness she offered the use of her checkerboard pans because I knew when it came right down to it, I'd probably have lost interest in making this labor intensive cake.
