Another ER Visit & a Road Trip

.

I'm off on a short road trip today - with Gretchen and her son Paul. We're driving to Pennsylvania for her other son's wedding. Nick & Jill are getting married in August but are also having a family ceremony today so they have more time to get settled before Nick's next deployment. Simon can't get off work unfortunately but he and Steve will definitely go with me in August for that ceremony. Simon is in the wedding then. We'll be back tomorrow morning so I'll work in the afternoon. This is the card I made for them. I'm not sure what the etiquette is for two weddings but I got them a little something for today and will probably make them something for the August wedding.

I received a phone call from Simon's manager around 10:30 Monday night that Simon had gotten his tooth knocked out at work. A girl tossed him a shirt and the hard plastic sensor hit a lower tooth just perfectly - broke it off at the gumline. The nerve was exposed so he was in a lot of pain. A friend drove him to emergency and I met him there.

Long story short, they finally gave him Vicodin for the pain after 6 hours. I took him to see his dentist this morning who referred him to an endodontist, who did a root canal yesterday afternoon. He'll see my dentist for a crown Thursday morning. I don't know how that kid endured the pain for that long. He's worried about how the crown will look of course - and yes, Gretchen, he threatened to get a Grill! He retained his sense of humor anyway.

I went into work yesterday afternoon for about 3 hours but was so sleep deprived I'm not sure how effective I was. I got caught up nicely last night though. And since I have to leave to pick up Gretchen and Paul in about 90 minutes I probably should go shower and pack, eh?

See you on the flip side.

Just reading about Simon's tooth made me wince! Poor kid; I'm glad he's okay. (And that card is lovely!)

Everyone we've come in contact with tells us that Worker's Comp should cover this but I know that can be a nightmare. We're filling out all the proper paperwork, keeping records, etc. (Every time someone mentioned WC, Stephanie, I thought of you!)
