Red, White & Blue

.

I swear it's totally a coincidence that I end up making a red, white & blue card on Independence Day. I love that new little flower punch. I bought it from the $1.00 bin at Michael's, not really expecting it to work very well, but it's great!

I also bought a tiny spiral punch that doesn't punch worth a darn. I don't know what it is about spiral punches - my larger new one is acting up, just like the previous one did. It doesn't punch cleanly enough so I can remove it from the paper. I've tried spraying it with Punch Doctor, different weights of paper. I have a bid on a discontinued swirl QuicKutz die on eBay - hopefully that will work better. I really, really love the swirl - I use it for lots of borders so I have to find a solution.

This is the guy who did the tree trunk carving in my parents yard that I posted about here. Check out his website here.

A couple of years ago Gretchen and I went to Naples Craft Village (is that what it's called?) to poke around and getting to see Bill work was one of the highlights. We introduced ourselves and chatted him up a bit. We sat on those benches and watched him work. (This picture is from his website - that's not Gretchen.) :-)
