Lego Art
.
I found this in my new ReadyMade newsletter, which I highly recommend. You can see more of emiko oye's amazing creativity at her website, including a link to her blog. While I admit you probably couldn't get your coat on over this piece, she does have more "practical" jewelry, such as earrings. So creative!
From there, I landed at Nathan Sawaya's site, The Art of the Brick.
Not only did he make a life size playable cello, but for only $60,000 he'll make a lifesize replica - of you! (That blows my mind to think he could make one of these per year and live comfortably. Not sure what materials cost, so it's not like the $60,000 is pure profit.)
His site is fascinating. Can you imagine being the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition kid that gets to live in this room!?
(More photos from that episode are here.)
It's not that I've much Lego experience myself; Gretchen & I were more of the Tinker Toy generation.
