Blue Flowers
Someone just added this 2006 card of mine as a favorite on Flickr a few minutes ago as I was looking for something to post here today. Do you know how fast I could make this today with my blazin' hot new KNK Groove??I say that as I sit here eating breakfast, blogging away, cutting out 19 ladybug backs at a clip. Bang, zoom, done.

I've had some issues with deep pockets in my gums over the years - had bone grafts done a bunch of years ago. So I have my teeth cleaned 4 times a year between my regular dentist and my periodontist so we can make sure everything remains in good shape. Yesterday my favorite hygienist, Tracy, did some deep scaling - cleaning below the gum line. She told me I could have it done with or without Novocaine. I chose without. I had some hesitation in the beginning but decided to tough it out and I'm glad I did. She and I usually chat while she works, as best as one can chat during a cleaning, that is. But yesterday I listened to my iPod, closed my eyes and zoned out. I'm so glad I did. I hate getting Novocaine shots and I hate the after-effects. My gums were a little sore a few hours later so I took an Advil and I'm good as new this morning.
Why did I think you'd find that interesting? I have no idea. Just wanted to brag about the lack of Novocaine I guess. ::: grunts, pounds chest :::
In yesterday's comments, Leslie asked about the status of my Etsy shop. Good freakin' question. The status is it's embarrassing. So much for my 2009 goal for having 200 items in it at all times. I also swore that anytime I posted something new in this blog, I'd have it for sale in the shop. I even decided to forgo photographing each item and would just scan them from different angles where possible because it takes much less time.
I've been eyeing 1000 Markets a little bit, thinking I might want a change. Except I'd be in the same boat there - not able to keep it as fully stocked as I'd like. Etsy isn't the problem, it's me. I've considered closing the Etsy shop altogether to take that off my plate, but I really like having an online store. And I do get occasional sales, when I have product in there, that is.
I'm open to any advice or experience that anyone else has had, though I think the solution to my problem is Just Do It.

I have the same deep pocket problem and was just getting a teeth cleaning Wed. Did you have thta procedure where they put the antibiotic under the gum. Next wed crown prep oh joy.My teeth a constant expensive problem
I have to admit that I didn't have novacaine until I was...drumroll, please...47! It wasn't as bad as I feared it would be!
I blissfully have no dental issues, so I go every 6 mos for a cleaning, and I laugh at people wo tell me they are sorry I need to go to the Dentist. HOWEVER, I am a Dentist pansy when it comes to 'work'. When I had my wisdom teeth out when I was 24, I needed not 1, but 2 shots of novacaine, and he had to trick me into both of them. That needle was longer than my arm! It WAS!!!! Thank goodness I'll never need to see THAT again.
As for your store, I wanted to send my Tweeple there the other day, but saw it was thin, and i wanted to make sure you planned to keep it stocked. What I do if I make a card is (1) I always take a pic of every card I make, (2) decide if I want to sell it at my market or on etsy, then (3) if it's destined for etsy, I upload it then and there. Done. Next card. I am up to an amazing 20 items in my store. Yeah, I know. I hope to have more after my markets are over in November.
PS: The detail in your card is amazing. And the squares are all straight! Even more amazing! :-)
I have root planing and scaling done 4 times a year, but I'm not as stoic as you - I get the gas! If I can avoid any more pain in my life, I will!
