Nature Inspired

This isn't exactly one of my favorite cards but I learned you can dry real leaves in
the microwave oven, without using a MicroFleur press.

I've made lots of these "landscapes" variation on a theme.
I'll replace this picture some day with a better effort, but you get the idea.

This is actually 2 pages of a tri-fold card (and in real life, those center irises all show up perfectly - not sure what happened to the picture). I made a number of these for Mother's Day, 2001.

This is another favorite - I just like the way the colors worked out. I use that large "marble" background stamp a lot. Sometimes less is more!

I've used this sunflower stamp quite a bit. Sometimes I place a drop of paper paint (thick paint that holds it's dot shape) on the flowers to represent each sunflower seed. The flowers are punched with the little accent lines drawn in.

I like the simplicity of this card.

These two background were made with Shimmering Pearls, applied with a scrubbie type sponge, swiped or swirled.

I quite liked this Father's Day card I made for Dad. The card itself is a moss green, which I think looked better in person. The little vellum envelope was made from a page I tore out of a Target catalog, thus part of the bullseye thatmakes it more interesting. See? Never throw anything away - you never know what it will become some day.

This skeleton leaf was something I purchased some time ago. Much later I bought the leaf stamp
I used for the background. They go together quite well. This olive color is one of my favorites.

More streaky Shimmering Pearls. The fish are paper folded origami-style, with a bead for the eye.
They were originally earrings! That's 1/4" ribbon around the edges.

This is one of my favorite cards. I bought a couple of those dragonfly charms to make pins, but it fit this card so perfectly! The middle insert was done by stamping the dragonfly with Versamark ink, then brayering over it. The Versamark acts like a resist.

This tree stamp is one of my new versatile favorites. Those are tiny brads holding the tree stamped on vellum to the brayered background. The card is stamped with that big marble background stamp I like so much.

This is a birthday card I made for Dad.

The sun is stamped on vellum so you can see the gold leaf layer beneath it. The copper layer actually looks much more "swirly" in person.
