And another thing . . .

Gratitudes:

Friends.

Pets.

Movie with popcorn!

A decent amount of reading time this weekend.

Random and Not-So-Random Acts of Kindness

Kathy presented me with an RAK - by some of the kind, generous things she said to me today. And a book she recommended.

Remember these kittens from a previous entry in the old journal?

This is Nala & Gator, Kathy's kittens.

Here they are today!

They aren't quite full grown yet. Aren't they beautiful? They are both very soft and snugly, I know because I tested them both!

About 6 times a year I get together with my friends, Crissy, Kim, Kathy and Nancy. They all used to work at WNYCS and have moved on to other jobs - and motherhood in Kim's case.

We had lunch at Crissy's house - beef & chicken shish kebobs, rice pilaf and biscuits - with Crissy's Cinnamon Surprise with ice cream for dessert. We laughed, we cried - it was the usual good time.

Crissy's 8 year old daughter took this picture for us. I forgot I had previously zoomed the camera - so I had her take another one, but I sort of liked this one better.

This is the birthday card I made for Nancy to give her husband for his 50th birthday. The background is stamped in clear ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. Those are real candles attached to the card. Inside is a one sentence quote that made Nancy cry to read it. Then again, she's a really soft touch, which is one of the reasons I like her so much!

Not only did Steve ask me if I wanted to rent a movie to watch together tonight, he insisted it was my turn to pick out the movie since he picked the last one. He's a little more flexible when it comes to watching "my" movies than I am in watching his. There's a decent amount of common ground though. I picked Life as a House, a movie I had wanted to see in the theater but didn't - and I knew to be a real tearjerker. I liked it very much and Steve liked it too. Rent it someday if you haven't already seen it. Bring hankies.
