Thursday, January 1, 2004

If we have to have a holiday in the middle of the week, I think Thursday is a fine day on which to hold it. Going back to work for one day - and it's a Friday? Piece of cake. Since today feels like Sunday, this weekend will feel like a real bonus.

I've had the most luscious Stefani Day! It's been All Stefani, All the Time. As it should be.

At 7:00 this morning, I laid in bed for a while trying to determine just how windy it was outside, because I wanted to walk Reggi. It was damn windy last night but judging by the wind chimes outside our bedroom window, I could tell what the wind lacked in velocity, it made up for in consistency. So I did 30 minutes on the treadmill instead, watching a little Carol Duvall on the VCR.

After I took a shower, read the paper and ate breakfast, I cleaned up my studio. Remember I said I felt like organizing but couldn't decide if I would work in the basement today or my studio? I ended up deep cleaning my studio - it hasn't looked this good in months! Now I'm cleaning up email and paperwork. I think I can get it all done tonight so I'll have this weekend to make cards. I may or may not work on reorganizing the basement. (I still need to put the Christmas decorations and tree away but I think I'll ask Simon and Steve to help me. They wouldn't volunteer but I know they'll help if I ask.)

While I was working I watched the Clean Sweep marathon on The Learning Channel. First I get totally grossed out by the clutter that some people live with. Secondly, I get pissed off at the way the hosts force people to sort through their stuff. They are ruthless and mean and maybe that works for some people but mostly I think it would put people off, who already have enough issues that they can't do this on their own anyway. Then I remember it's television and these participants know exactly what they are getting into. Thirdly, I love, love, love the end results! As I've said before, I just love before and after pictures, especially of home decor. (In fact after I cleaned my studio within an inch of it's life today, I regretted not taking before pictures to show you!)

Simon and I installed the new mini-blinds in his room. The whole room looks so much better, now that we got rid of the last of those paper honeycomb blinds.

The post holiday card sale is going well. I'll be stopping by Village Gifts tomorrow to pick up some cards to fulfill some orders. Spread the word!

Check out Going Bridal. I got absorbed in this site one lunch hour. I'm pretty anti-big-wedding so this wedding parody stuff just knocks me out. I loved the confessions by the Bridezillas - and laughed out loud at the bad bridal fashions.

And I can't remember how I found this website about creativity but I thought some of my fellow artists might enjoy it. I have yet to explore it thoroughly but I have it bookmarked for some lunchtime surfing soon.

You've probably seen this by now but it makes me laugh out loud every time I look at the picture. I think it's the down turned whiskers that give the cat the really pissed off look. Oh dear.

What happens when you have
1) nothing to do
2) a sharp knife
3) a large lime
4) a patient cat
5) too much tequila
6) and it's football season?
