I can't believe I didn't update this weekend - that's not like me. In fact, Ann emailed me at work this afternoon to see if I was okay. I was about to answer her email when I got the call from Simon to pick him up after his math mid-term today. I brought him back to my office and I couldn't very well let my son see me goofing off at work, could I?? Not that I do. That would be wrong.

Saturday was pretty busy, in and out of the house.

The vendors of Village Gifts had a 3 hour meeting to discuss further ways of advertising the store and improving the store in general. We're going to have these meetings monthly, which I think is a good thing. I don't know if they've done this in the past, but they haven't had one in the 5 months I've been with the store. Unless they've been having secret meetings without me.... There were a lot of good ideas discussed. I'll share a couple with you another time.

Then Simon and I both got haircuts. I got my hair permed Thursday night but wasn't happy with it - still too long and too little curl Friday morning. Maria had only trimmed the very ends so I had her cut a couple of inches off on Saturday. The curl seems to have improved - I think it was mainly overly dry because she'd dried it with the hair dryer Thursday night (because it was freezing outside) plus I couldn't use conditioner on it for the first 3 days. I'm happy with it now but I'll probably have her curl it a bit tighter next time.

You still awake?? You wanna hear about my grocery shopping trip? Me neither. It was routine - except I came in under budget which I haven't done in a while

Sunday Steve and I went to BJ's. It was one of those smallish quick trips where we buzzed around and got what we wanted and got out.

I spent the rest of the day and night in my studio, getting caught up on paperwork and finishing up some cards. Wanna see?

This card is for Steve's mom's birthday tomorrow. The red centers are sparkly - like tiny rubies!

Right after Christmas I made two boxes of thank you cards, which I posted here. I was going for simple and apparently I succeeded a little too well. After Gretchen's last visit to the store she told me they were too plain. There was nothing special enough about them to make one want to buy them. Good point. So I dolled some of them up. These flowers are made with punches and that's a red brad in the center.

I love this one! These folksy/primitive heart shapes are big in the store so I suspect these will sell. I'm selling these cards singularly. I made them into cheap boxed sets because I thought people might buy thank you notes after Christmas.

Looks like I've been on a red kick lately, doesn't it?

I've had a few more sales via the website this week - and the one today was from someone I don't know. My first unknown! I suspect she's a relative of a friend who bought a Valentine's Day card this week.

Plus - a big welcome to the new member of the notify list.

It was a good day, indeed.
