Sick of winter yet??

Tonight I emailed some jpgs of things I've been working on the last couple of days to the shop owner who wants to do the frames to see if these are pieces she'd like to collaborate on. I scanned them so they look a little bit better than I showed you last night. They look better in person of course so I asked to set up an appointment with her next week to show them to her.

These are the vintage looking quilts I mentioned last night. This is about 10" x 6". I have lots more ideas for these! I stamped the quilt in black ink on oatmeal paper, then stamped it again and again on scraps of the different colored papers. I cut the teeny tiny quilt blocks apart (because I love to cut!) and glued them on the cream quilt. The green border around the quilts is part of the same stamp - you can't see the design very well here though. And I layered it a few times of course. I love these colors. I was going for old and faded and think I succeeded. I wasn't even sure I liked them at first. The next morning - loved them!

These are each 8-1/2" square. My beloved baby pins.

This is the last one of these I have already framed so I sent her this jpg too. I explained that the flowers on the black background are clear embossed so it looks much more subtle in person. It's hard to scan - too much glare - plus it's so dimensional.

Helen loved the blue framed piece from last night so I shipped that today, along with the swirly paper envelope I made. She sent me a whole bunch of ideas for cards she would be looking for throughout the year. One is more masculine cards, which I've always been challenged by. I've been wanting to make more so this was a good nudge. She also mentioned elves & magic (like Lord of the Rings type, not cutesy). Whoa - now there's a new challenge!

Oh - and sorry about that spam thing in my Yahoo Groups notify last night. They have this new Spam Guard thing. Gretchen's looking into it for me. I totally depend on my Mailwasher for bouncing spam on a daily basis, but don't you even think about calling ME a spammer! :-)

Dinner: Garbage plates from Perinton Hots. Waaaay too much food. Remind me to divide mine in half next time and make two meals out of it.
