Saturday, March 6, 2004 We had a meeting of Village Gifts vendors this morning. We talked a lot about Canal Days, Fairport's crafts & food festival held every year on the first weekend of June. I learned that an independently owned grocery store is going in where Vix used to be in the Village Landing and the Saturday morning Farmer's Market will be moved due to parking considerations for the new store. The owners of Village Gifts are lobbying to get it moved to Columbus Commons, right next to the store. That would sure be terrific! This is our second meeting this year and I'm hoping the meetings get a little tighter as we continue. We could accomplish the same amount in half the time. I'm used to meetings at work, I guess. At least this time I went in knowing it would last three hours so I wasn't so antsy about it.
The meeting was my morning and grocery shopping was my afternoon. After dinner Simon went to Target to check on his employment application. He was given a name and number to call Monday to follow up. He definitely wants this job which does this mama's heart good - I was getting worried for a while there he would never get a job, never leave the house.....
We picked up Gershum on our way to Target then stopped by Mom and Dad's for a bit. Meanwhile Nephew Paul was dropped off at our house so both boys spent the night here with Simon. Lizz stayed over too. Steve and I spent our "date night" watching this past Wednesday's The West Wing and eating 94% fat-free Kettle Korn. Thus my exciting Saturday. Now you see why I haven't posted much this week! But tomorrow's a true Stefani Day so I hope to have lots to report and lots to show you tomorrow.
Dinner: Sort of a Shepherd's Pie kind of thing. It was really just Sloppy Joes in a casserole dish, covered with mashed potatoes and a bit of cheddar on top. We also had salad, corn and no-sugar-added peanut butter cup ice cream for dessert. Reading: From Chunk to Hunk by Fred Anderson Listening to in the car: A Jackson Browne tape made for me by a friend years ago. It's a combination of "The Pretender" and "Late for the Sky". I'm #7 on the hold list for a new book on tape (Anne Tyler's "The Amateur Marriage" but there are 7 holdable copies so it probably won't be long. Still, I guess I'll have to stop by the library Monday and pick something off the shelf to tide me over.
