Monday, March 29, 2004 Annie fixed! The page that had me pulling my hair out yesterday - is up and running! It's not connected to the other pages yet but here's a sneak preview. The shopping cart is functional so feel free to order some of Marcy's spring-time fresh cards. (I had screwed up the tables, which I like to think I would have figured out when I completely redid the page tonight. But Ann graciously saved me any more thinking and work than necessary. Thanks again, Ann - you are the best!)
Still no fix for Haloscan emailing new comments to me. I tried my two other email addresses with the same results. However, the Pine Tree Design comments do get mailed to me. I posted the question in their support forums and "the guy" asked me a question about the PTD site, which I answered, so now I'm waiting for his reply. I know it's not exactly life or death, but I'm just not feeling whole right now, you know?
And just to add to my frustration, my server, Dreamhost, has been having some issues. My websites have been slow to load today, if at all, so I was pretty sure it was them, not me. I just received an email saying they are having "severe network degradation on one of our routers". Okey doke.
I'm not sure what the official high temperature was today but I know it was in the high 60's at least. With lots of sunshine. As soon as I got home, I took Reggi for a walk. I swear, if that beagle could skip, she would have skipped down the road, she was so happy. We were on a back road, fields on one side, woods on the other, big blue sky above us and I just had the urge to open my arms wide toward the sky and say "Wheeee!" So I did. Reggi turned around and gave me that tilted head thing dogs do. Priceless.
So all of the above put me in a better mood today. And to top it off, Robin Gardella called me tonight. She's the artist in Maine who makes the fish and turtle necklaces I'm selling. We had a very nice chat. After I bought that batch of necklaces from her, I wanted to email her to ask her if I could sell her necklaces on my website. All she had was a phone number and fax number listed. So I faxed her, asking her for her email address. She emailed me back (she has a 40 hour/week job that gets in the way of her real life too), but I never answered her, because I've been busy and well, rude, if you ask me. So she called to make sure her email got to me okay.
Aren't these fun? These are the two I kept for myself. No two are alike. They come on an 18" black cord. I'll be getting these up on the website next. $12.00. Email me if you want to order one before I get them up on the website.
Dinner: I made this lasagna casserole thing about 8 years ago that I swear we eat every night. But it's almost gone. Love it but enough is enough. Reading: Girl Clown, by the lovely and talented Mary Wise. Hey - did you know you can order Girl Clown now?? I'm about halfway through the one Mary sent me but I ordered my copy today. It won't be here for about two weeks so I may read something else in the meantime so I can read it in a real book format. I printed the entire file Mary emailed me and have been reading it in a cumbersome 3-ring binder. Update: I'm still reading the cumbersome 3-ring binder - I don't want to wait for the book. But it's cool because I very much want to own the book anyway. Anyway, congratulations Mary, on being published - I'm very proud of you!!
Listening to in the car: Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American
Meal by Eric
Schlosser. People say once you read this book, you'll never want to eat fast
food again. People are right - and I don't even think I'm to the truly
icky part yet. Update: I'm to the icky part. Ewww, ewww and ewww.
