I have lost the will to live.

This is the weekend we are painting Lizz's room.

The white textured wallpaper came down like a dream, leaving only the paper backing, which comes off with vinegar and water, no problem.

However. Three walls had this hideous wallpaper underneath. (Hideous to me, that is - just a tad busy for my eyes but I'm not usually a big fan of wallpaper in general.) It's so secure, we had to Paper Tiger and Dif the heck out of it but it's coming down without too much problem.

Three hours later my arms and shoulders are starting to hurt, as I knew they would. Steve and I are having fun though. Well, maybe fun isn't the right word but we both said it's nice to be doing a project together again. We had the music going and windows open.

We are going to have to bust ass if there's any chance of getting this completed tomorrow. Paint dries pretty quickly but still - we need to paint the walls with a coat of primer, then two coats of paint. That's after we finish stripping the last parts of two walls, spackle the 8000 holes and paint the ceiling. I know I won't get the woodwork done tomorrow - I'll have to work on that every night this week until it's done. Even when I didn't know about this second layer of wallpaper, I wish Steve and Lizz had moved her stuff out Saturday afternoon instead of Sunday morning. What's done is done, though, we'll do the best we can.

I'll save the color of paint as a surprise to show you tomorrow. I think it will be very nice. Very colorful. I told Steve that Lizz needed to go to the paint store with us and decide on a color - because I had a feeling she was going to change her mind about red. I wasn't sure which direction she'd go - but she did change. Heck, Simon's heart was set on red for his room until he got to the store and decided on that bright blue.

I'm going to read some journals for a while, then go to bed relatively early so we can get an early start on the room in the morning. Stay tuned.

Dinner:   We each kind of fixed our own at different times. Simon had soup earlier, then I had Spaghetti Alfredo, cauliflower and grapes and Steve had 3 sandwiches made up of various leftovers.

Reading:    Square Foot Gardening by Mel Bartholomew aka gardening in neat little anal retentive squares. This is so Stefani.

Listening to in the car:  Music, which means a lot of button punching for me.
