Tuesday, April 27, 2004

A whole week since I updated? No reason in particular, just been busy and have had nothing to say.

This made me laugh out loud. Go look quickly though, the auction ends Wednesday afternoon, 4/28.

I worked at Village Gifts last Saturday afternoon and am working again tomorrow. I got a decent amount of work done on about 20 new B2004s. I'll probably finish them up tomorrow. I made those just in time because I need a few for May birthdays. I had a decent Saturday afternoon, business-wise. And not just counting Mom coming in and buying a bunch of my stuff. I laughed as I was ringing up her purchases, knowing that Linda and Terry would see the register tape full of 70s (my vendor number) and think, "Yep, Stef's mom was in again." But the only two sales Nikki had in the morning each included a card of mine. I had a decent enough check from last week and will have one next week too. Things are looking up.

Good thing because not only is rent due on May 1, but our twice-yearly advertising fee and the fee we vendors agreed to split to buy better bags and tissue, etc. Then Thursday we have a vendors meeting to decide about having t-shirts made for the store and Fairport's Canal Days. It's a large chunk of money but we should be able to not only make our money back but cover additional advertising costs. You gotta spend money to make money! Gulp.

The good news that all of this has really motivated me to get the PTD website updated. I made three new pages last night and will work on more all tonight too. My number one intention all along has been to keep the site updated regularly and I've failed miserably. I still think I can get in the swing of it eventually.

Steve emailed me that he's taking the next two Fridays off so I've decided to take this Friday off too. That is, if my co-worker returns from jury duty in time - so I'm trying not to count on it too heavily, just in case. I will love having a Stefani Day to get caught up on lots of stuff. Oh - I just remembered, at least a few days ago - the weather forecast was sunny and 70's. That would be good, even if I'm doing some inside stuff most of the time.

Jennifer Hudson was robbed last week!

I've already admitted to my American Idol guilty pleasure. This is the first season I've watched the entire competition. I watch the Tuesday show pretty closely but I don't like the Wednesday show because of the manipulative over dramatization of the results. So lately I've been tuning in the last 5-10 minutes to see who has to leave. For some reason last week I didn't see any of Wednesday's show but happened to walk into Simon's room just in time to see the last few notes of Jennifer's farewell song. I'm a little embarrassed at how shocked I was and how much I care about this!

If anything is going to ruin this, it's going to be because it's becoming a popularity contest rather than a singing competition. How else do you explain the longevity of John Stevens? (I give him credit for being 16 and hanging in there and not folding to the pressure.) Please stop voting for him and put him out of his misery. He seems so uncomfortable and guilty, I care barely watch him! I know it's about personality somewhat but jeez Louise!

I'm off to watch tonight's show, featuring Gloria Estefan and The Miami Sound Machine.

(Note: Edited to RE-include this American Idol part. Thanks, Ann, for the alert. I have no idea where it went between the time I wrote it the first time and uploaded it. Operator error, obviously.)

DinnerVegetarian "chicken" burgers, French fries (Steve & Simon), cauliflower and Bush's Baked Beans (me).
